"Save the Earth, take Public Transport."
Yes. If you would like to contribute a little to the environment, take the public transport instead of driving/taking your parents car to school or anywhere. Imagine, if everybody were to take their own car to work/school, what will happen to the fourth planet from the Sun, Mother Earth?
The result is very simple, as mentioned before. The Earth will be polluted by the poisonous gases produced by the car. Now, you might say "If I take the public transport such as the buses, the buses will still produce harmful gases, so what's the point for me to squeeze with other people on the bus when I can enjoy myself in the car when going to work/school?"
Once again, the answer is simple. Since the public transports are provided for the people, they will be on the road, serving people. So, if you were to drive your own car, it will contribute to air pollution. Let's say the bus can take up to 30 people, but there are only 10 people on the bus, and the remaining 20 people drive their own car, when actually the bus can reach their destination, this will cause the air to be polluted with MORE harmful gases.
Think again next time when you are about to climb into the car. Not only can you save money taking the public transport, you can also, save Gaia.

Go green!
What if Earth is destroyed? No plants, no life, no beauty, no psp, no ipod, no nothing!Hi! Yay, boy am I glad that someone came to this blog yea! To start off, let's have an introductions to this blog.
This blog was created on 5th April 2009, which, apparently, is today. Well, what's the point of having this blog you must ask. Nominally, you may think this is just for fun or something, but deep down, this blog is more than 'for fun'. We hope that, from reading this blog, people will recognise the importance of what we usually say 'Saving the Earth'. When I told my mummy that I, together with my friends Liyana, Serena and Willie, want to start a new save-the-earth project, she totally ignored me! How evil. Well, perhaps she thought I was kidding, or that I would not succeed. Either way, I still think with determination, I can if I want to.
"Yeah yeah, the Earth's dying, so what?" Do you think this way? Well, I sincerely hope not. Have you ever wondered, why do we call the Earth "Mother Earth"? Without a doubt, it's not due to the fact that the Earth gave birth to us (that would be kinda weird alright), so why? In my opinion, I guess "Mother Earth" is a term to show the relation between us and the Earth. The Earth is similar to our own mother, she supports us physically, providing us with the wonderful environment we're in now. However, how are we paying back this kindness? Mother Earth is currently sick and we are in fact, mostly or fully, the ones causing it. I agree, some kind souls out there are trying their very best to save Mother Earth and 'cure her illness', whilst most of us are doing things which resulted in the add on to the harm caused. All these acts we do, though little, have a great and negative impact on the Earth. Since I myself am a student, I shall talk about some 'kind deeds' of the students which are harming the Earth.
"It would take a rough average of 24 trees to produce a ton of printing and writing paper." This was something I saw while researching on the internet. Any idea how many years it takes to grow a tree? Roughly quite some years, well I'm not very sure myself. But in any event, 24 trees is quite a lot. Trees are living organisms too, why must they be killed to meet our needs? What's worse is, instead of treasuring the paper produced, people are wasting them. There are two pages in most paper, yet instead of using both pages, some people are just using one page of it! Well, if it is necessary for the next page to be blank, that's fine, but if it's a draft, use both pages! What's best is you use recycled paper, stuffs like unwanted notifications, flyers etc which have a blank page, it's usable! Hence I think everyone should practice the habit of saving paper, instead of wasting it. Lately I heard my classmates having this chat on how to save paper. Hilariously, one of them suggested not to have examinations as exam papers are in fact wasting paper. Okay, clearly he wants no exam rather than no wasting of paper. But anyway, I think it is a good idea, though not likely possible? We can use our smart gadgets to replace paper, maybe not during examinations but normal school times. For example, I think my form teacher, Mr Robert Pierce Puffer (some of you should have heard of his big name already!), is unique. Not that he's a foreigner/American, but the fact that he does not print and print and print homeworks non-stop like some other teachers. Instead, he created a website on wetpaint, thus adding in colours to our dull homeworks. He posts worksheets for us to complete, makes us write our own goals and aspiration, therefore improving our English skills. Well, back to the point. I think what he did is fantabulous, even though sometimes it kinda wastes electricity. But still, paper are not wasted! Yayyyyyyy. This gives us a sense of achievement alright! Yes, save paper, save money, save trees, save THE EARTH! Hope this is etched in your mind already.
- Harmful chemicals from vehicles.
Of course, we're underage teenagers, driving is impossible for us (with the exception from video games, etc.) but for some of us, our parents drive us to school. Okay, this has nothing to do with me as I walk to school, nevertheless I'll still touch on it anyway. Well, I personally think driving a single car to send a single student or two to school is kinda unhealthy for the Earth. Why not take a bus? Is it that horrible to bear with the crammed environment for a while on a public bus? Maybe some of us have a poor sense of balance (like me, sadly) and keeps swaying here and there on board of the bus. Kind of awkward and embarrassing? If it were to be me, I would choose to face this short-term embarrassment rather than play a part in causing long-term negative impacts on the Earth. Some of you may think, it's convenient, why is this girl wasting her time typing so much thoughts here hoping people would change for the better? Yes, I agree driving to school is convenient but the harmful chemicals from vehicles are killing our dear Earth. Imagine, if all the parents drive their child to school, how much harm will be caused to the Earth and nature? And not to forget, the extra traffic jams caused. How horrible would that be.
In any case I hope nothing here is too cheem alright, to you maybe these are craps but if you were to just make small changes in life and play a part, the Earth and the nature will be smiling more. In a nutshell,
GO GREEEEEEEEEEEN!
